I think I'll do the same as mine are down to 3mm, so will need replacing in the next 3,000 miles.

Sorry no idea, I only ever fit Michelin's to my own car.

They look so regular around the tyre and the groves are so distinct, I cant imagine anything else causing it other than something small pushing on the tyre as it spins (a bit like a lathe). My thoughts would have been pieces of grit on the road, during the recent snow. I presme it's only on the front wheels?

When you're sitting at a T junction with a lock on the front wheels have lots of camber, turning right the OSF tyre is on its outer edge, because of the steering lock you need more revs to pull off without stalling and the wheel spins wearing those grooves in the outside quarter of the tread.

I've just had 2 uniroyal 205 55 16s fitted to my golfwagen for £60 each by my small indy tyre place.

Why do you think Michelin tyres are so expensive?
