VX Combo interior plastics removal?
07.02.10 at 21:15:07

Can anyone advise me how the interior plastic rear door handles and below rear door window linings are attached to the doors? Unlike my old van it's not possible to lock the van from within manually, and I wanted to take off the big handles and the covers but can see no screws or anything that holds it all in place?
Are they meant to be prised off? If so are there some bits that will likely get damaged and need replaced (ie replaceable clips/grommets?)?
Or can anyone advise whether locking it from inside is even possible and not to bother?!
(The hideous alternative is a sliding bolt arrangement self tapped to the doors...it's getting kitted out for a micro camper and if I centrally lock it with the remote key from within I can't manually open it...progress eh?!?!?) Huh Undecided
It has split height interior side linings too, they need to come off to insulate behind them, any advice there???

I know mine prise off...

only one handle on inside, thats for opening the n/s door..

you can't open the door from inside, unless you pull off panel and fiddle with the rod to the handle Wink

Mine has big plastic handles, looked behind them for a circlip but no sign so wary of just prising them off! Looks like the panels must prise off can't be any other way, so if I can suss this and find the manual linkage to top/bottom (like the old Combo B) I'll gladly do some "modifications" to allow my hand in there... Cheesy Wink
I'd like to do the n/s one also to fit some sort of shackle point to the back door, with bolts rather than self tappers, so when I have my kayak inside I can tie the end of it to the door and not have it fly through the windscreen... Cool.
