Transit TDCi Cutting Out
16.04.10 at 12:51:49

Just a quick one at this stage, Transit Toureno TDCi '53 plate just come in for an MOT. 'By the way, can you have a quick look at it, it's cutting out!'
Found an invoice in the vehicle, recently had a fuel filter housing & inlet metering valve at Ford dealer, doesn't seemed to of solved it!
Glow plug light comes on just before it cuts out, seem to have to leave it a while before it will restart, sounds fairly rough/uneven ticking over!
Just had time to put scanner on it, come back with fault codes P1211 injector control pressure sensor above/below desired & P0251 injector pump fuel metering control A malfunction!
Having looked on internet seems to be quite a common complaint, with high pressure pump and/or injectors being likely culprits.
Any one out there had any experience of such problems?
Thanks

Graham

It sounds like the fuel rail relief valve has failed. Pull off the fuel return pipe @ the end of the rail and see if the diesel is leaking past the valve..

I've had the same fault after putting on a metering valve and fuel filter housing! Rev it to 2,500ish and started cutting out, coil light flashes and completely dies. It was low on fuel and showing quarter of a tank on the gauge!
