New OEM Brake Rotor Replacements
25.05.2006 at 23:14:38
Hello,
In last months issue there was an article on XJ40/X300/X308/XK8 brake overhaul(pg 84. It was very well instructed on new brake install. But my question is on the New rotors. I work at a dealership and have replaced many brakes on X, S, XJ, XK and certain rotors have a blue coating and others have an almost invisible coating not noticeable. There are no instructions supplied and I was wondering what is best for break in. Also, who manufacturers our rotors for the current line of Jags?
regards,
Scott

Hello again to all,
Last year i renewed all my (4) brake discs and pads with the Mintex brand .
I purchased mine off Ebay.co.uk from jagsofbursledon.
I paid just £140 incl
, and they were delivered to my door the next day by courier.
I believe i got a good deal with these.

I got a couple of unknown make (£24) from Eurojag for my 88 3.6 several years ago & they have been fine. Important think is to thouroughly clean off any preservative coating before installation and mage sure they are running true with DTI after installation. PS Jag caliper pins are prone to binding, check & grease them twice a year.
Cheers
