Tractor engines

Can I suggest that JWM covers the servicing and upkeep of the 'new' diesel variants?

I'm quite happy with the coverage of the 'proper' Jaguar engines but as a virgin Jaguar diesel owner, I'd like to see more of the tractor engines in the magazine.

I think this is needed aswell but covered in a seperate section on the forum.
Jaguar make diesel cars - some of which are owned by members of this forum, so why not?

The 2.7 twin turbo diesel is an excellent engine, but it has related problems which can be easily sorted without taking the car to the dealer. It would aim to help the people who own cars with these engines.

Hello all - sorry for not getting back sooner on this, but we do cover diesel-engined Jaguars in JWM.

Practical Jaguar articles covered the servicing of diesel X-TYPEs in December 2007, and diesel S-TYPEs in June 2008. Whenever we produce an owner's guide on a model that uses diesel as well as petrol engines they are also covered there, and there was  a Tech Tips article on the AJ-V6D in the July 2008 issue - so we're definitely not ignoring the diesels!

Expect more in the future too - starting with a test of the new 3.0-litre diesel XF in the May issue.

Kind regards, Matt

Cheers Matt, but how about a regular section on the 'oil burning stoves'? The articles you quoted are years past....

My 'new' x-type has done 145k miles, how do I keep the thing from exploding? What can I do to prolong its life?

If diesel is the future for Jaguar, I suggest we need a dedicated section in the magazine to cover this.

Just an observation. Wink
