Upper wishbone bushes on v12 xj40, little prob.

Hi all, just replacing the upper wishbone bushes and there is something in the way of pulling the long back bolt out, its on the drivers side and is a cylinder shape, its about the size of an old style 12v coil, I can see how to remove it but just not sure what it is, as its not in the haynes for the 6 cylinder cars, many thanks.

It sounds like the same thing that confuses us XJR owners, apparently it is some kind of capacitor and just needs to be moved out the way while doing the job. If you're fitting standard bushes and your car is compatible you might find this interesting:
