Sat Nav map upgrades

Hi, can anyone tell me pleas if it is possible to purchase up to date sat nav maps for the XK8/XKR (X100)?
Looking at Jaguars official site they seem only to be available for the XK post 2007.

If maps aren't available are there any after market sollutions available?

Hi Derek, There is a small item on this precise subject on page 19 of the May JWM magazine. It states that up to date discs are simply not available, and recommends an option from 'DesignXKR'. Bit pricey though! Try this link, and hope it helps.

A new member and new owner of 2003 XKR.
Just like to add to this post to record my only disapointment with the car. The out of date disc and unavailability is very frustrating for such a prestigious manufacturer and prestigious car.
I guess I've repeated what you chaps have already found out, I wrote to Jaguar customer service they confirm no plans to update disc and Nav Tech confirm they won't either because Jaguar won't support it.
I've tried emailling designxkr as mentioned above to get some more info on their replacement option but it gets rejected...are they still in business?

Frustrating, yes.
It's the age we live in, I'm afraid. Seems that all electronic-related stuff is the same way.
Buy the latest and greatest computer today. In 6 months it's old-ish news and ho-hum technology. In 12 months it's obsolete. In 20 months the manufacturer no longer "supports" it at all
Cheers

Hi Daz, Sorry to hear the link to designxkr doesn't work. It might be possible to get a back issue of the May JWM magazine though, with the article. Try the JWM offices on 01959 541444. Cheers, apax.

Yes, the in-built system is terrible. Out of date when it was installed. The cheapest way is use use a portable.
