I was down for the weekend to deliver mk10 and Pick up V12 and stayed at Archie's for the weekend. Thanks Archie ' Smiley
Excellent  day at Hever Castle.
I met Nick and his partner and his lovely xjs(cheers
Nick for the ice creams  Smiley
Also present Archie and his lady friend.
...

event was organised by the JEC Kent division..(funny looking bods.)
...

...

...

S type police car..was badged 3,4 but the owner told me it was a 3.8.
...

...

...

...
A none Jaguar car tried to park in the area and was politely asked to move. Grin

Mine was the only xj40 shape there and was ignored. Alot of the usual e types(so I ignored em) Grin
...
there was a V12 "N" reg e type for sale at £45000 which a lady behind me said to her husband(in a posh tone)"that it was rather cheap".I don't know whether she meant the car or the price. Huh

...

...

This chaps red X type reminded me of the forth rd bridge..as once he had wiped it over he started again.(sure he has been to the London to Brighton run) Grin But he denied all knowledge.. Wink
...

Sadly it was all too much for one poor chappie and he may have had an attack of heat exhaustion or maybe a heart attack, Cry
...

but the band played on....
...
A good day out.
Then it was back In the V12 and home.... Undecided Cry

...

Nice to meet up with Roly, Archie and is lady friend. Roly thank you also for taking the shot of my better side  Grin Hope you all had a great day. We did seem to get chased around by a swarm of angry wasps which was a little unpleasent and nearly got stung  Angry

Thanks also to the Kent Region JEC for putting on a good show. Although I've been a JEC member for some time I do need to join up locally and wil.

Happy days

Hi Nick, Yes there will be (and I owe you an ice cream!). It will not be the JEC Kent day as previously because that was at Brands and has gone. However, there were several JEC Kent members at our Sussex JEC Borde Hill day recently and I asked about this. I was told that they would be at Hever in early September and I would get an e-mail from Angela to confirm. In view of your question I will check it out. Cheers, apax.

Hi Nick, The event at Hever will be on Sunday the 21st August. Just turn up and pay on the gate.
That clashes with the JDC XJ Day at Gaydon, but as that's about 140 miles away and this is local, I think Hever wins it for me, There is also a good show at Capel on the Saturday I believe. Cheers, apax.

Several irrelevant posts have been removed. This is a thread about Events not MOTs. Would posters please make some effort to keep to the thread context. The alternative is to start ANOTHER thread to discuss your cars' MOT woes with those that might be interested. Regards, Archie.

Blimey Archie, I'd be pleased that anybody took the time to post, even if it is in the wrong section, the forum has been sadly lacking in content lately !! Did you move the posts or delete them ?, as I don't seem to be able to find any relating to MOT's.

I did not see these off topic posts. But if you do go around the board then I feel you will be busy removing these sort of posts. They are everwhere on this forum and it makes for a friendly atmosphere.

Nick, I think that the answer to your question is that this is purely a Kent JEC event and does not get widespread publicity as a result.
You would only find an on-line reference on the Kent Region JEC website. This does not apply to the diehards of course! I wonder if Roy Garrett will be there this year?
The other aspect is that the venue is normally the Kent JEC National Day which, as mentioned earlier, was held at Brands Hatch this year. I had to plague their membership secretary for info about the Hever venue. Cheers, apax.

Getting fed up with the Purists trying to take us over, aliens are invading us  Grin  Grin  Grin

Seriously though I love reading the human side of our membership rather than the techy stuff. I have my fair share of woes with my Beastie especially on the exhaust blowing effects on my otherwise near perfect engine note on my Jag!!!

Forum should be about fun and off beat banter rather than this or that is broke, I want a step by step, blow by blow guide on how to fix it.

One thing we all have in common is, I think, is we all own a Cat most of which have issues in one shape or form. Yes there is a place for the purist who thinks their Cat is either perfect or wants it to be. In reality we know that nothing in this world is perfect and we live in the real world (allegedly) surrounded by imperfections.

Think we should all be able to air our thoughts and be human. Sure it was, a few years ago Apax who appealled for members to talk more about themselves as people, their likes and dislikes, not just the cars. Maybe he has forgotton that one  Wink  Grin  Grin  Grin

Hi Jacqueline, All that was asked was that members post appropriately?
Your last post was 9 lines long and I could find no reference at all to either events or to the Hever Castle day.
We have a gossip and chat Bulletin where you can air any and all of your car and personal issues. Regards, a.pax.

Hi Nick and Roy, I have checked again with a different person and it seems that Hever Castle is indeed on. It will be an informal event and I suspect we may even be in the public car park.
If this doesn't appeal let me know please. I'm having second thoughts and will only turn up if at least one other Forum member is there! Cheers, apax.

Hi Archie - A little disappointed that it's going to be such a low key event. Usually such a good day out. I will go.

Farria will see what the weather is like. Promises to be better later. Have we heard from Roy? Anybody else out there planning a visit?

An enjoyable day out at Hever Castle. Oompah bands, jousting (limited interest), the lake and grounds. Plus we had dedicated parking and reduced admittance fee, courtesy of Kent Region JEC.
Nick and I after lunch. No we weren't drunk, even if we look it!! Cheers, apax.

There was a quite a good deal of interest and especially as the event/gathering had not been widely publicised.

In the interest of proving it wasn't just Archie and I who were there last weekend. There were others. A real shame though that not more widely publicised.

I've looked round the other sites (as you do) and agree there is not much going on any where. Perhaps everyone except us are on holiday.
