mistery car
14.10.2011 at 22:52:48

hi everyone  ive a new dillema with my 2001 xjr .ive got the log book and it says its a 4.2 litre regeted in 09 2001 but iv gone to get a insurense quote and it says its a 2003-2009 model which would make it a x350 not a x308 which it is.
Ive so far found out that it was first owned by jaguar racing for two yrs and it had a pdi at guy salmon in 17/09/2001 the engine code written in the book is the same as in car and on log book .
After that it went to jaguar preparation centre in lawford heath for a service as far as ican find out this was a pdi /modifcation centre i would like to find out as it will alter insurense qoutes and part numbers
Huh Huh Huh

Insurers dont always get their models spot on sadly or in some cases refuse to even quote on cars because they dont get listed.

Could be the car spent time out of the country or on a foreign/private plate or was just not actually registered till much later

Maybe a test model with seriously limited production and therefore well worth hanging onto if the connection can be proven!

Have you asked the JDHC for any info on it assuming its available. Limited test models do exist out there in very small pockets!  Grin

Does it have a supercharger on it. A photo of the engine bay may help in its identification  Wink
