4 Pot Caliper replacement ALERT
29.12.2011 at 17:44:21

Have recently purchased a set of 4 pot calipers from SNG Barratt.  Because the calipers are larger than the originals Barratts recommend removing the back plates and using goodridge SS brake pipes plumbing the new calipers direct from the fixing on the inner wing direct to the caliper. The problem I experienced is the SS brake pipes are too short. On full lock the brake pipes are stretched very tight and could easily be ripped from the caliper. I have alerted Barratts and I am trying to find some longer brake pipes.

I have now spoken to Coopercraft who incidently supply the calipers to SNG Barratt and they have confirmed that standard stainless steel pipes are 2 inches too short. Coopercraft supply longer pipes with this brake conversion.
If any readers are considering this upgrade then I would recommend buying the extended pipes from Coopercraft.
Regards Terry
