XJS Cab with £ 60k resto job at Barons
06.02.2012 at 20:30:21
Fancy a Cab with a £ 60,000 restoration ?
This beauty is coming up for sale at Barons.

At the same sale, this TWR V12 6.0l manual with a bodykit which Jeeves might describe as being 'a trifle sudden'.

He could have bought a fleet of really decent XJ-Ss for £60K.

How could you spend that much on a 70 odd thousand mile car? They must have seen him coming. Nice as they are, it would be difficult to imagine forming an emotional bond with a Cab to spend that amount of money. Still, could be a good buy at under £5K. I'll try and get along to look at it out of curiosity!

Would happily accept that sort of figure on my 65K car. Would be willing to negotiate a bit on price for the right buyer as convinced mine could be got into that sort of condition for a tad less than £60'000

£5K would be tops. I remember spending something of the order of £13k over not long on my previous XJS, then sold it. Would I have paid £13k for a car in the condition mine was? No.
XJSs are expensive cars. The cheaper they are to purchase the more they will cost you (my theory at least).
Would I contemplate not having an XJS in the garage. No.
Happy days
Nick

Both made decent money.
The cab made £ 8745 inc. premium ( est. £5-7000 )
The TWR made £ 5830 inc. premium ( est. £ 5-7500 )
5.3 HE made £4620 inc. premium ( est. £ 2500-3500 )
