In August I'm partaking in a Rally that cover 3000miles across Europe, raising
£100,000 for
Help for Heroes and the
Royal British Legion. I am one of 50 drivers involved in the Rally, but more interestingly my car is one of five
Jaguars XFs that is taking part. The five
Jaguar XFs are Team Thunderbirds and as such we will be in fancy dress for at least one of the days of the rally dressed as characters from Thunderbirds.
As part of the publicity and build up to the main Rally in August, we have been holding various events across the country from fundraisers to show stands. On the 6th of May 2012, the
Rally for Heroes team is holding an awareness day at
Weston-Super-Mare which is open to all car clubs.
We have been invited to hold an event on Weston-Super-Mare’s Promenade and Beach Lawns by the Mayor and Council of Weston-Super-Mare and as such we have been given free reign to do as we wish from 08:30am through to 10:00pm on Sunday. One of the beach lawns will be used for family attractions, live music and food, whilst offering up the remaining beach lawns for car and motorcycle clubs.
The event falls over the May bank holiday weekend and as such, we have been inundated with requests from clubs for their own areas. If there is enough interest from the Jaguar World Forum, then an area can be allocated specifically for the Forum members to display their Jaguars. So that we can get an indication of numbers of attendees, could you please post here to say if you are attending or PM me if you prefer.
