I always thought you only "decanted sherry... or was I bought up wrong?
anyway I would not pour petrol in a kitchen with the gas burners on....."when will they learn"!
can't wait for the jerk to syphon out a petrol tank with a vacuum cleaner..... seem to remember someone doing this years ago and burning the garage down.
the local garage has put prices up for petrol to over 1.51 a litre.. cashing in on the "PANIC"...

Waitrose in Swaffham are rationing petrol, 50 litres maximum.....what use is that in a Jag
Even worse the local Jet station in Downham Market are limiting you to £10 so SWMBO tells me not sure that would get me back home from the petrol station!!
Cheers

.
Hi again everyone
,
I filled up at after queing for 5 minutes at Morrisons, Hinckley yesterday morning on my way to work.
I paid £1.39.9p per litre due to the strange fact that prices in the Hinckley area are more than at the (6 miles away) Fosse Park shopping centre, Leicester Asda and Sainsburys and even my local shell garage. All are £137.9p
The lady that used the pump before me put just £5.40p worth of petrol in her tank, can you believe ?.

Filled up at the new Morrisons in Wisbech this morning, 6.10 am no queue
138.9 for unleaded. 1.46 for Diesel, Local BP charging 150.9 for Diesel
My Berlingo van swallowed £80 of diesel...used to buy cars cheaper than that!! Glad I got rid of the Sprinter, that would prob take about £130.00 now

It seems a petrol que acts as a magnet to passing motorists. I worry sometimes as a nation what we are becoming. It's all me me me and all very sad.
Heaven only know what will happen if these (quite well paid already) drivers go on strike !!!

Highest Petrol price in London was in Chelsea...£1.79.9
There seem so few petrol stations open these days that the days of driving into an empty forecourt are long gone. Plus you then have to wait for the person in the shop buying a coffee, a VAT rated pastie, their weekly shopping and a 20 B&H...then when they finally get back to their car and check their phone then talk to their passenger, take a bite of their pastie then start their car, then put their seat belt on...then wait 30 seconds, another bite of the pastie...get a ****** move on!!!
You pull up the pump and the last sale was £3.

Of course you do - and wine and paint and any other liquid. I do it all of the time - but not in the garage or my house - particularly not in the kitchen whilst cooking on a gas hob as that idiot woman did.
40% burns? She is lucky the bl**dy house didn't burn down and it would have served her right if it had done.
She should be charged with attempted suicide!

I frequently decant petrol, measuriing it out precisely for 2 stroke mix, or filling my industrial engines.
I do it near the open door of a well ventilated garage.
There used to be a few petrol fires at race meetings - people used to wash air filters out in it (and still do). Its now the rule that all competitors carry an approved fire extinguisher.
I think most peole are relatively uneducated about the dangers of petrol and are unaware how flamable / explosive it can be on a warm day.
I was helping a friend with a non starting grass track kart last night (turned out to be sheared flywhell woodruf key). We deliberately had only 0.5 L of fuel in tank just in case it caught in the Garage as competition 2 stroke engines can following a backfire.
Cheers

Whilst I would not wish the results of this womans idiotic actions on anybody, I'm afraid I have little sympathy. Anyone pouring petrol into a jug in their kitchen whilst ther oven is alight (or if central heating boiler in kitchen) is asking for trouble.
Darwin candidate surely
