XK Engine on an engine stand (Read 377 times)

Queeny I've just arrived Offline Posts: 27 Essex England Gender:	XK Engine on an engine stand 27.04.2012 at 16:32:27 Hi all Has anyone successfully fitted an XK lump to an off the shelf engine stand i.e. Sealey or similar. I need to work on my engine and a stand looks like an option. Any feedback would be useful. Thanks Terry

From the two books I have on the engine rebuild they show the engines on a rotating stand bolted to one side of the engine. The cheap and cheerful stands I've seen bolt to the gearbox end plate.

I didn't think the weight of the engine was sufficiently supported this way so made my own bolted to both sides of the engine and allowed it to rotate between the two sides of a wheeled frame (made from bed irons, but all in compression).
