The above is not the first time this type of thing has been reported. A couple of years ago testers found the sportier for focuss could not get anywhere near the official CO2 figures.

Hardly a surprise, is it?

The official test is conducted on a rolling road where as the magazine was doing them in reality.

The official rolling road test takes no account of aerodynamic effects like drag and should be seen for what it is: a largely irrelevant piece of bureaucracy.

Unfortunately our useless legislators rely heavily on nonsense like this when formulating the regulations.
